Clinical programmes
Paediatric Infectious Disease Clinic (PIDC)
The PIDC provides HIV testing, treatment, care, and support services to children, adolescents, and their families. Current patient load is roughly 2,462 active patients, most receiving follow-up care every three months.
Research programmes
Contributing to global HIV & oncology science
Botswana-Baylor Trust acts as a major research hub, contributing valuable information to the international HIV and oncology communities and improving standards of care nationally.
Adolescent programming
Supporting adolescents and young adults
Enhanced interventions promote long-term medication adherence among adolescents and young adults, addressing mental health, family support, and financial and transport barriers to care.
Psychosocial support programmes
Psychosocial support for families
Social workers, nurses, and community health workers conduct home visits and provide skills training and transport support to help patients and their families stay in care.
Paediatric haematology & oncology
Global HOPE partnership
Supported by the Global HOPE initiative since 2007, the PHO programme has dramatically improved paediatric cancer and haematology care throughout Botswana, based at Princess Marina Hospital.
Education and training programming
Training the next generation of clinicians
Education and training programs build local capacity, sharing knowledge with health professionals across Botswana and the Southern Africa region.
